PD Collagenase is an aseptically filled, lyophilized mixture of purified Clostridium histolyticum collagenase and neutral protease from Bacillus polymyxa.
This product is purified from C. histolyticum culture supernatants that contain porcine gelatin peptone. The peptone is created by digesting porcine gelatin with porcine pancreatin. It is the only animal-derived product used in the manufacturing process. There is no evidence of prion-associated diseases in pigs.
PD Collagenase contains a fixed amount of neutral protease activity (NP) units and variable amounts of purified collagenase. PD Collagenase is prepared for research use only.
